Marsha Nunley, MD
Dr. Marsha Nunley is a Texas native who moved to California in 2000. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. In addition to more than 20 years of clinical experience, she has spent years exploring the benefits of alternative therapies such as chiropractics, acupuncture, homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, hypnotherapy, and energy healing.
Fifteen years ago, Dr. Marsha found herself dealing with chronic health issues that neither she nor her traditional doctor could fix. She wanted to be cured, and to feel healthy again. Over many months and many doctors’ visits, she realized that physicians like her — trained in a certain model of medical treatment — are often unaware, and sometimes unwilling to use, all the tools available for healing. As a result, she began to explore Functional Medicine. Functional medicine is a systems-based approach in which patient and doctor work together to treat the whole person – genetic makeup, environmental exposures or toxicity, lifestyle – and apply strategies that enable individuals to restore their bodies to optimum health. Ultimately, these are the strategies Dr. Marsha used to get better: she revamped her diet by removing toxins and adding missing nutrients, she balanced and supplemented her hormones, exercised regularly, and began to more deeply explore her spirituality. Working on her whole self – mind, body, spirit – allowed her to discontinue medication, and to heal. You can do the same.
